Carolyn Burgess is a freelance harpist living and working in Adelaide, South Australia.
Carolyn has been playing the harp since the age of 12 and played at her first wedding when she was 16. Since completing her musical studies at 20 years of age she has played with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra on a regular basis and has also worked with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmania Symphony Orchestra and The Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
While living in Norway for 3 years Carolyn was able to work with two prestigious Norwegian orchestras (Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra). She has also played on the 5-star cruise ship M.S. Royal Viking Sun, as well as tour with the Australian Opera to Tokyo, Japan in 1988 for the opera Aida.
Carolyn has had the honour of working with a number of singers and performers including Olivia Newton-John, Josh Groban, Kanye West, Kate Cebrano, Natalie Cole, Bernadette Peters, David Campbell, and Electric Light Orchestra. In 1996 Carolyn played a private performance for Michael Jackson, who loved Carolyn's rendition of Heal the World.
